Lela Patrik (FCAS, MAAA) is an actuarial principal at PwC with experience leading teams for some of PwC’s largest P&C clients with global insurance and reinsurance operations. Her background in working on large multinational audits and advisory engagements has provided her with broad-based perspectives on insurance operations, the cross-integration between underlying departments, and the feedback to management. In particular, Lela has assisted clients with implementing insurance accounting changes – including gap assessments, pro forma modeling, and technical implementation. She has led the build of IFRS 17 pro forma models for companies, which are both tailored to the unique features of the underlying products and with flexibility for sensitivity testing. In doing so, she has worked hand-in-hand with companies to identify the information needed to support the measurement models, adjustments to underlying assumptions, and opportunities within the guidance to apply alternative assumptions/methodologies. In addition, she has done extensive work on PAA eligibility – building frameworks to assess eligibility, evaluating guidance to understand areas of flexibility, and assisting her clients with strategic considerations in implementation.
